CAROLINE BOREN SHOULTS

Caroline Boren Shoults was born in House Springs, Jefferson Co., on January 28, 1833. She is the daughter of John and Celia Medley Boren. She married Philip Charles Shoults on February 25, 1851 in Jefferson Co., MO. The couple had 12 children: Eliza, George Wilson, Cecelia, Elmira, Virginia (Jenny), Rebecca B., Annie, Emily, Nicholas H., Julia, Winifred Shoults Schebeck, and Carrie C.

She died between December 15, 1929 in Granite City, Madison Co., IL; and is buried with her husband, Philip in Allen Cemetery (now Allenton Cemetery), Allenton, St. Louis Co., MO.

BIRTHDAY PARTY:

Mrs. Caroline Shoults celebrated her eighty-second birthday Thursday, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Schebeck,(Winifred), of 5579 Manchester Avenue. (St. Louis, MO) Her nine daughters, two sons, a niece and a number of grandchildren attended. Her granddaughter, Mrs. John Paschall, rendered several selections on the piano. Mr. and Mr. Shoults were old settlers of Jefferson Co., MO.
