Funeral was Dec. 16 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with Danny Russell, Sam Starr and Robert Taylor officiating. Burial followed at Cottondale Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Todd Meadows, Jim Garrett, Seth Foster, Jay Foster, Mark Neely and Coy Cleveland. Honorary pallbearers were Melvin Meadows, Raymond Meadows and Marvin Crawford.
Carolyn was born Nov. 10, 1936, in Goose Creek to Elzie and Luella (Kay) Hollaway. She married Gerald Cleveland March 29, 1956, in Baytown. He preceded her in death in 2013.
Carolyn attended Abilene Christian College and retired from Santa Fe High School as a teacher. She was a Bible class teacher for preschool for 50 years and served as secretary for the Paradise Economic Development Corp.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Survivors include her daughters, Patti Tax and husband, Joe, of Paradise and Lori Rhodes and husband, David, of Grand Prairie; son Jerry Cleveland and wife, Linda, of Santa Fe; grandchildren James, Nathan, Eric, Jacob, Miranda, Ashley, Victoria, Jonathan and Katie; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
