Betsey Ann Robinson, eldest child of her parents, b. Dec. 9, 1814 in Sandy Hill, the latter renamed in 1910 as Hudson Falls, in Kingsbury Twp, Washington County, NY. In her father's 1860 will Betsey is the only child mentioned by name with the specific request that she be permitted to reside in his house for as long as she wished. Betsey was a longtime member of the Congregational Church and died Sept. 30, 1868 in Morristown, VT of typhus (typhoid fever), "unmarried at age 53 years," dau. of "Rev. S. and Lucy A." [Morristown TR]

Betsey's gravestone inscription is incorrect as it uses the symbol Æ for the Latin term Ætatis suæ, which does not mean one's chronological age. She died 53 years old, and Ætatis suæ (i.e., Æ, "Aged," in the XX year of her Age) 54.
