OBITUARY Iron River Reporter July 8 1965 “Rites Held Monday For Mrs. Dalcanale”
Funeral services were held Monday for Mrs. Louis (Matilda) Dalcanale, 75, of 232 West First Street, Caspian, who passed away Friday at 2 a.m. at the Stambaugh General hospital where she had been admitted four days prior.
She had been in ill health for many years with a heart condition.
The Rev. Fr. Herman Fadale officiated at St. Cecilia church in Caspian following a brief prayer service at the LaFave Funeral Home. Burial followed in Stambaugh cemetery.
St. Anne’s Society attended the funeral in a group.
Pallbearers were nephews George Peruzzi, Geno Peruzzi, Chester Bonetti, Daniel Bonetti, Richard Bonetti and Eugene Mottes.
Born Feb. 7, 1890 in Tyrol, Austria, she came to the United States in October of 1919 and was married to Louis Dalcanale in Caspian on Dec. 27, 1919. She had been a resident of Caspian for the past 46 years.
Surviving are her husband Louis, one daughter Mrs. Thomas Prior of Milwaukee and one grandchild. Her brother Patrizio Oberosler preceded her in death on May 5, 1965.
The LaFave Funeral Home was in charge of services.
