I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Ingel Peck, the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds to be given unto her by my executors hereafter named and the same shall become due and payable to me by Henry Dilbone and George Merkel according to the tenor of three obligations, conditional for the payments of fifty pounds each, togather with all my household furnitue, goods, chattels of what nature or hindsoever to be by her freely possesed and enjoyed forever.



1786 --- Engel Beck’s Will -- September 6, 1786 - Berks County, Pennsylvania

I, Engel Beck. Of Maiden Creek Township in Berks County, Pennsylvania, being weak in bidily health band supposing mind, memory and understanding do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say:

First, my will is that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid out of my estate by my executors hereinafter named.

Secondly, I give and bequeath the sum of five shillings to my daughter, Katherine Kerstner (Kerschner), wife of Conrad Kerstner (Kirschner), of Winsdor Township in the county aforesaid. And the like sum of five shillings to the lawful heirs of my late son, Anthony Beck, deceased, which said sums I will and order to be paid to them by my executors within three months after my decease as their full portions and shares out of my estate.

Thirdly, I give and bequeath to my son-in-law, Michael Dunkle all the rest and residue of my estate, both real and person al as well monies as other goods to hold to him, my said son-in-law, his heirs and assigns forever.

Lastly, I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my said son-in law, Michael Dunkle whole and sole executor to this, my last will and testament, hereby evoking and making all other and former will and wills by me heretofore made, ratifying and confirming this my last will and testament. IN witness whereof, I have hereunto se my hand and seal the sixth day of the ninth month, Ammo Domini, one thousand, seven hundred and eighty-six 1786.

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the above Engel Beck to be her last will and testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witness in the presence of the testator - John Reefer - George Fogels - Thomas Lightfoot.
