Lydia was the daughter of Henry Sprenkle & Mary. Note that her date of birth is calculated from her age at death on her gravestone of 78 Y, 8 M, 23 D.

She married John W. Larkins on 13 Dec 1832 in Fayette Co., OH.

Lydia moved from VA with her widowed mother and siblings in 1816 to Highland Co., OH. Her older brother, Samuel, moved from Highland Co. into Fayette Co. 1820-1830, and we believe that Lydia & her mother accompanied him. Her brother Sam married Mary Larkins, who was Lydia's husband's sister.

Lydia & John had at least eight children: Mary (Tracy), James W., Samuel I., Sarah (Miller), Nancy Catherine (Kinney), William Allen, John H., & Dorcas (Ray/Rea).

Lydia's husband John died on 2 Dec 1872, in Warren Co., IL. Not long after John's death, Lydia, accompanied by some of her children and numerous nieces & nephews, moved to Mahaska Co., IA.
