MRS. JOHN EVANS CALLED BY DEATH
End Comes after Brief Illness of Five Days with Peritonitis.
At 2 o'clock this morning at the family residence on Coalville road about 1-1/2 miles south of Streator, occurred the death of Mrs. Dora Mary Evans, wife of John Evans, and daughter of John Burton after a brief illness with peritonitis.
Mrs. Evans was born on December 26, 1874, near Coalville, and had lived there all her life. She leaves besides her husband and father, 9 children, four sisters and one brother to mourn her early death. The children are Letta, John, Lawrence, Roy, Edward, Ezra, Ruth, Gladys and Dora, all at home. The other relatives are: Mrs. Melody of Iowa, Mrs. Pope of Streator, Mrs. J. E. Hapwood and Mrs. B. F. Hapwood of Coalville, and Y. L. Burton of Scotia, Neb.
The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the house of the father, John Burton, near Coalville, with interment in Moon's cemetery.

---Mrs. John Scarratt and daughter, Jessie, of Pontiac, attended the funeral of Mrs. Evans yesterday.
---Mrs. Defenbaugh of Galesburg, returned to her home this morning after attending the funeral of Mrs. Evans.
