Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mrs. Reba Ware Chesser, 75, Gadsden, with burial at Crestwood Cemetery. The Rev. Bob Payne and Lem Lockmiller will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Services directing.
Mrs. Chesser was a native of Randolph County and a resident of Etowah County for approximately 60 years. She was a member of Forrest Avenue Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Chesser retired from Holy Name of Jesus Hospital with approximately 30 years service as a pediatric registered nurse.
Mrs. Chesser is survived by her husband of 52 years, Richard Franklin Chesser Jr.; three children, Carren C. Litteral, Gadsden, Richard Avery Chesser, Augusta, Ga., and Harry (Vicky) Chesser, Gadsden; four grandchildren, Christy Litteral, Trint M. Litteral, Richard Avery Chesser Jr. and Stephanie Chesser; two sisters, Edyth (Will) Hardman, LaGrange, Ga., and Bovene Mallory, Prattville; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Trint Litteral, Byron Townsel, Richard A. Chesser, Chris Lombardo, John Christian and Richard A. Chesser Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be all personal friends, along with Dr. Charles Griffith, Dr. Thomas Corley, Dr. Lucian Newman Jr. and Dr. Bryan McGwier.
