Obit in The Correctionville News, 22 October 1964, page 1: Warren Baker passed away at his farm home near Pierson early Monday morning, October 12, 1964, aged 77 years, 11 months and 21 days. Mr. Baker, the son of William H. and Amanda Elizabeth (Keck) Baker, was born on the farm home place in Cherokee County near Pierson on October 21, 1886. He married Maude Whitmer at Pierson on December 18, 1907. Following their marriage they moved to Alberta, Canada, where they lived seven years on a farm. They then returned to the farm home place near Pierson where Mr. Baker continued to farm until his retirement in 1945. He was a member of the E.U.B. Church of Grand Meadow where he was a Sunday school superintendent for several years. He had also been treasurer of the Grand Meadow School Board for 25 years. Survivors include his wife, Maude, son Lester of Pierson, two daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Fern) Goodmanson of Harland and Mrs. Forest (Rena) Drefke of Marcus, two sisters, Mrs. Alice Nafe and Mrs. Emma Fuller both of Washta and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters who died in infancy. Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 14, at 2 p.m. from the E.U.B. church in Grand Meadow with Rev. C.W. Kerns officiating.
