PIERSON, Iowa - Lester Baker, 62. of Pierson, died Oct. 13 in a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Oct 16 in St. John Lutheran Church at Cushing. The Rev. Ervin Schemmel will officiate. Burial will be Correctionville Cemetery under the direction of the Dickison-Michaelson Funeral Home of Kingsley.
Mr. Baker was born April 5, 1914, in Lucky Strike, Canada. He married Margaret L. Hoppe Sept. 20, 1942 They farmed east of Pierson until 1947, five years near Cushing, and moved back to the home farm at Pierson in 1951. They lived there since.
He was graduated from Grand Meadow High School in 1932. He served on the Grand Meadow school board, the Pierson Elevator board and the St. John Lutheran Church council and was Sunday School superintendent and teacher for several years.
