R. G. Colby Passes Away
Mansfield -- Royden G. Colby, 74, of 84 Reservoir St. died yesterday at the home of his daughter in Foxoboro.
A widower of the late Florence R. (Greenleaf) Colby, he was born at Westport, Maine, March 13, 1894, a son of Charles E. and Anne M. (Perkins) Colby.
Mr. Colby, a builder-contractor, retired nine years ago. He had been a resident of Mansfield for 11 years.
Survivors include two sons, C. Norris and Royden G, Jr. of Mansfield; five daughters, Mrs. Frank (Beatrice) Greenleaf of Westport, Maine,
Mrs. John (Eleanor) Meyers of Foxoboro, Mrs. Hartley (Hattie) Wilder of Hercules, Calif., Mrs. Paul (Phyllis) Hodgdon of Westport, Maine,
and Alice Hebard of Attleboro; two brothers, Ernest of Woolwich, Maine, and Lawrence of Westport, Maine; a sister Verlie Greenleaf of Westport, Maine;31 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Sherman Funeral Home with Rev. Wilbur Sadlier of the Orthodox Congregational Church officiating. Interment will be at the Knollwood Cemetery, Canton.
