The sad news of the death of Mr. Hermann Gerstenberger at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gerstenberger, near New Bielau reached this city Wednesday morning, his death occurring the previous evening, after a siege of malarial fever. He was a young man of about 33 years, unmarried, a steady, industrious and progressive farmer, well thought of by all who knew him, and his death is deeply and sincerely regretted. He was a member of the Oakland camp of Woodmen of the World, and was buried under the auspices of that order Wednesday afternoon, numerous Woodmen and friends of the family from this city attending the burial at the New Bielau cemetery. Besides the insurance in the Woodmen, he had insurance in other forms, leaving a total of $4000 or $5000. Our sincere sympathy is extended the bereaved family.
