Elsie married John Herman Baltisberger, Sr. on 10 Oct 1945 at St. Norbert's Catholic Church in Hardin, Calhoun County, Illinois. He was born on 14 Jun 1921 in Brussels, Illinois and was the son of Martin Baltisberger and Mary Frey.
Elsie and John were the parents of 5 children. She was a homemaker, and he was a grain and livestock farmer.
Elsie and John were members of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brussels, Illinois. She belonged to the Altar Society and worked as a volunteer at the Calhoun Care Center in Hardin.
John played in the band known as Tri County Strings Band. He was a member of the Brussels Grade School Board and loved to fish and hunt.
At the time of her death at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home, Elsie was 73 years, 8 months and 4 days old.
She was survived by her husband, John; 4 daughters; 1 son; 7 grandchildren; and 1 sister, Izella Schleeper of Hardin.
In addition to her mother and father, Elsie was preceded in death by 1 sister, Elda Lorsbach.
Visitation was held on 26 Jun 1996 at Hanks-Gubser Funeral Home in Brussels. A prayer service took place there at 5:30 p.m. A funeral Mass was conducted at 10 a.m. the following morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brussels.
The family requested that memorials, if desired, be made to the church, the South Calhoun County Ambulance Service or to the charity of one's choice.
Elsie's husband, John, lived until 25 Aug 2016 when he passed away at Calhoun Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hardin at the age of 95. He was buried next to Elsie following funeral services on 30 Aug 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brussels.
