Maxine Mann left her home here to be at peace with the Lord on Oct. 29, 2009. She was born on Nov. 16, 1924 in Mackay, Idaho, a daughter of John H. and Josephine Hill Thompson. Maxine was a special mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

For many years, Maxine worked as a cook at Naples Elementary. She loved traveling, playing cards, unicorns, Garfield, spending time with family and friends and her beloved "patches". Grandma, we love you and we will miss you very much. We take great comfort in knowing you are in Heaven, living among angels. Please watch over us all and keep us protected.

Maxine is survived by her sons, John L. (Sheila) Clark of Dinosaur, Colo., Harley Morrison of Layton, Utah; daughters, Carrol Wallace of Denver, Colo., Michelle (Robert) Garcia of Vernal, Utah. Maxine adored her 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by parents; brother, Verle Thompson and sisters Bernice Klettke and Lavar Thompson.

Funeral Services were held Monday, Nov. 2, 2009 at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. G.K. Clark offered the family prayer, Clifton Jenkins gave the invocation, Jennifer Granado gave the obituary, speaker was Leon Richens and special musical was proviced by Bud Richens, Michelle Garcia, Andi Perant and Ashley DeSilva all read poems, closing prayer offered by Laurie Fletcher. Pallbearers were Casey Desilva, Trevor Desilva, Cody Clark, Phil Jackson, G.K. Clark, Justin Gabbard, Shaun Farnsworth and Jim Patry. Honorary Pallbearers were Leon Richens, Dave Cox, Gary Barney, Robert Garcia, Victor Garcia and Boby Garcia. Interment was in the Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
