MRS. CELIA TAYLOR PIONEER PASSES ON

When Mrs. Celia (Keyes) Taylor died last Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Minnie Croxford, death took away a noble and upright woman, a woman who made the world a better by having lived in it. She was a consistent member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The immediate cause of death was cancer of the stomach.

The funeral was at 10 o'clock on Thursday morning at the First Ward house and was conducted by Bishop Hyrum Calder. The speakers were President Don B. Colton and John N. Davis. The music was funished by a quartet. Burial was at the Rock Point Cemetery.

Deceased was born in Grafton, Ohio May 10, 1841 and at the age of eleven years she came to Utah with her parents, settling in Salt Lake for the winter. AFterwards she went to Winter Quarters, where in 1856 she was married to Alma Taylor. In 1887 the husband came to Ashley Valley and a year later the wife followed. There were thirteen children, eight of whom are living. Mary Huffaker, Willappa, Washington; Rosa Steinaker, Seattle; Clara Cover, Villah, Washington; Hyrum Taylor, Mesa, Arizona; Amy Gardiner, Taft; Mina Meadows, Seattle; Inis Workman, McLeod, Canada; Minnie Croxford, Vernal.

Two years ago Mrs. Taylor visited all her children and since that time she has been living in Vernal. Six weeks ago she was removed to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Croxford. The husband died four years ago.

When Celia Anzinete was 15 1/2 years old, she married Alma Taylor at Fort Supply on December 3, 1856. They settled in Ogden in 1857 and pioneered Franklin, Idaho and Vernal in Uintah County, Utah. Celia
was the mother of 13 children. Her husband died August 10, 1910 at Vernal from injuries received in a run-a-way. She took care of her mother in her old age. Celia died in Vernal September 9, 1913.
