MRS MARGARET WAHL DEAD
Passes to the Great Beyond After a
Long Illness from a Complication
of Diseases
Mrs Margaret Wahl, widow of the late Philip Wahl, died at her home in Adams Township shortly after mid-night on last Friday night. She had been in feeble health for several months, declining rapidly since the death of her husband Philip Wahl on the 23rd of last June. The deceased was the daughter of Henry and Magdalena Lapp and was born in Adams Township 1 February, 1834 being the third child of a family of nine children. Upon reaching womanhood she married Philip Wahl who was her companion until his death last June. To this union were born ten children, four of whom preceded her to the grave. The children living are Miss Mattie Wahl and M L Wahl of Adams Township; Mrs Samuel Keyes of Dresden; H N Wahl of Boone, Iowa; Mrs C W Trittipo of Newark and C A Wahl a student in the Ohio Medical College at Columbus. Coming from German parentage, Mrs Wahl inherited the industry and frugality which have been so marked in the gradual rise of these people in this country. She was not only a willing and careful worker in her home but also a kind and affectionate wife, mother and gave her children good training to fit them for the battle of life. Since the death of her husband last June change came in her life and her decline in health was rapid after that time. At an early age Mrs Wahl became a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and continued to worship God with the members of that society until called to her reward. Besides the children mentioned the departed one is survived by one brother, Abner Lapp and two sisters, Mrs Eliza Studor and Mrs Martin Sandel all residing within a few miles of the home of the deceased. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon by Rev N N Harter at the Zion Lutheran Church, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at that place
