A native of Ellaville, GA, he was a son of the late William Clarence Robinson, Sr. and Eva Devane Robinson.
Bill had been a resident of Newport News for 46 years and was retired from Newport News Public Schools following 27 years of service as a teacher. He also served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Marie Turner Robinson; daughter, Lisa Brooks and her husband Adam of Newport News, VA; a beloved grandson, Will Brooks; four sisters, Mary Mask of Americus, GA, Jo Bankston of Hartwell, GA, Christine Callaghan of Covington, VA and Mozelle Dean of LaFayette, AL; two sisters-in-law, Ruby Hall of Marion and Tahwannah Turner of Dallas, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service officiated by Rev. Doug Worley will be held on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in McDowell Memorial Park in Marion, N.C.
