Marzilla married Griffin David Blackledge in 1901 and had 13 children. Grandpa, or Tobe as he was known, made a lot of money in the logging business. He purchased their house and land and was immensely proud that it was "free & clear," owing nothing, however, that didn't last long. One of his sons shot another man in self-defense, and Tobe mortgaged his home to pay for defense costs and lawyer's fees. When he couldn't make payments on the mortgage, due to lack of work, their home was repossessed, and the family had to move. He never owned another home or real estate after that. The family shared cropped and lived in rented houses or share-cropper's houses. When one job would finish up, Tobe would tell Marzilla, "I'm going to find us a place". He would leave in search of work, and when found, would come back and move the entire family to the new "place". They rode their horses to church. Tobe passed away October 11, 1961, and is buried in Mill Creek Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery in Mill Creek, Jones County, Mississippi. Marzilla passed away March 4, 1968, and is buried in Ellisville, Jones County, Mississippi.
