**Obituary and both funeral home records show she was born at Rockwall Co., TX and died at her home in Bowie, Texas.

***I have only Aunt Lillian's word and her, brother's word for where she was born and that is in Clarksville City, Red River, Texas. The Story is that her grandfather Charles Henry Slayton became very ill in Wood County, Texas in 1897 and decided to take his family back to Nashville, Sumner, Tennessee where he was from. He sold his land in Wood County and started on the trip to return, but they only got as far as Clarksville City in Red River County, Texas and her Grandpa Slayton died there December 24, 1897. He is buried there. (The Red River County Courthouse burned and no records, if there was any to prove Aunt Lillian's birth, nor Grandpa Slayton's death.)

The oldest daughter (living) of Charles Henry Slayton was Mary Caldonia Slayton who had married A.P. Willard Coe in Wood County, October 23, 1892 and they had three sons, Henry, Obie, Holeman who were born before 1896. This daughter and her family were part of the party traveling and Grandma Mary was pregnant with Lillian Maybelle. They chose to remain in Clarksville until after the baby Lillian Maybelle was born February 9, 1898. They all returned to Wood County, Texas as soon as grandma Mary was well enough to travel. The brother's always made the statement that all the children were born in Wood County, except Lilian Maybelle.

Aunt Lillian, was the 5th child of her siblings,(8 brothers and 2 sisters): Henry, Obie, Elvis-(twin to Holeman, died at birth). Holeman, Lillian Maybelle, Lottie-(died at birth), Fred, Date, Willie, Fannie-(died at 18 days old. The children's mother Mary Caldonia died also on the same day as her baby Fannie. )
*I believe this to be a true story told to me by all of Lillian's syblings who lived and aunt Lillian herself. I do wish we did have written proof, but we do not.
