WILLIS FOSTER DEAD
Well Know Citizen of Adams Township
Passes Away
Willis Foster died at his home in Adams Township last Thursday of cancer of the liver after an illness of several months. He was one of the most widely known citizens of the township and his death although not unexpected to those who knew of his illness will nevertheless be quite a shock to his many friends. Willis Foster was the son of James Foster and was born October 21, 1840. Upon reaching manhood he was married to Miss Susan Stiner to which union nine children were born. Eight of these children with their widowed mother survive and mourn their irreparable loss. The children are; Mrs Janie Kreis and Retta Barrett of Adams Township; Mrs Elma Edwards of Newark; Mrs Lizzie Brewer of Utica; Mrs Mary Hoopman of Marion Ohio; Elmer of Zanesville and Tilden and Charley of the home. The deceased was a man of pleasing manner and made friends wherever he went. He was happy jovial and kindhearted under all circumstances; not alone enjoying the blessings of life but imparting it to those around him. For these qualities he will be greatly missed by a large circle of friends. Besides his family he is survived by four brothers and three sisters as follows, Martin of Falls Township, John who resides in the west, David of Zanesville; Mrs Nancy Hughes of near Conesville, Mrs Fannie Stiner of Monroe Township; Robert of Adams Township and Mrs Belle Cox of near Adams Mills. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon by Rev J J S Rumbarger assisted by Rev E V Ault at the Zion Lutheran Church and the remains were interred at the cemetery at that place.
