'Spug', as he was affectionately known by everyone, had been the congenial host and manager of Jolly's Restaurant, Cave City, for the past eight years. He made his home with his sister, Mrs. J.J. Jolly and Mr. Jolly.
Survivors include one son, Billy Royse, Jeffersonville, Ind.; two brothers, his twin, Owen Royse, Louisville, and Joe Royse, Miami Florida; seven sisters, Mrs. Jimmy Joe Jolly and Mrs. Franklin Jolly, both of Cave City, Mrs. Cofer Reese, Smiths Grove, Mrs. Malcolm Dillingham, Glasgow, Mrs. George Berry, Jeffersonville, Ind., Mrs. Walker Bagby, Louisville, and Mrs. Ray Dennison, Elizabethtown.
Funeral Services were conducted Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Cave City Methodist Church at 1:30pm, with the pastor the Rev. Carline Brown and former pastor Glen Lyle, officiating. Burial was in the Cave City Cemetery under the direction of the Gardner Funeral Home, Masonic Rites were held.
'Spug' was the type of person that seemed to radiate sunshine, he always had a pleasant smile and a cheerful word and you always left with the feeling your day was a little brighter for having passed his way.
