William A. Roberson passed away at his home in Bassett, death being caused by paralysis. Mr. Roberson was 69 years of age at the time of his passing and is survived by his widow, Mrs. Susan Roberson, nee Miss Susan Foley and eight living children, seven children having preceded him to the grave. He was thrice married, being made a widower by death two times, the following being children of the first wife, who was Miss Frances Via; P. G. Roberson of Stuart; J. Lester Roberson of Horsepasture, and J. T. Roberson of Roanoke. Mrs. H. C. Anderson of Vinton; Miss Wavie Roberson of Vinton; Brown, Dock and Miss Lillian Roberson of Bassett are children of the third union. He is also survived by three brothers, J. B. Roberson of Roanoke; G. Lee and F. W. Roberson of Elamsville; one sister, Mrs. Ellen Washington of Endicott and four grand children. There were no children by his second wife, who before her marriage was Miss Jathina Adams. Interment was made at Mount Herman Church cemetery Tuesday, funeral services being conducted at the church. The deceased was born and reared in Patrick County, where he resided until about seven years ago, when he moved to Bassett.
