Came to Fort Collins in 1880; joined his father on a farm near Fort Collins where he remained until 1906. A progressive farmer and rancher, he raised thoroughbred shorthorn cattle. Associated with the advances in agriculture including sheep-feeding, growing orchards, the raising of sugar beets, and irrigation development. Married Nellie Taylor on September 4, 1900.
