She was a retired accountant. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Preceding her in death were parents; and her husband, Thomas Edgar "Speedy" Applewhite.
Survivors are her daughter, Mrs. Jerrald L. Nations of Brookhaven; and her two grandchildren, Nancy Virginia Nations of Oxford and Betsy Nations Wilson of Hilton Head, S.C.
