Services for Louise Massengill of Brookhaven are 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 21, at Faith Presbyterian Church with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday, Sept. 20, from 4-6:30 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home.

Mrs. Massengill, 87, died Sept. 18, 2000, at her residence. She was born in Portland, Ark., on July 27, 1913, to Benton O. Cummings and Myrtle McArthur Cummings. She moved to Columbia, La., as a teenager. She graduated from high school in 1931 and attended Whitworth College from 1931-33. She graduated from Louisiana State University in 1935.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church. She sang and performed in high school and college and on radio. She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She was a longtime member and past president of the Climbers Club.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Dr. Frank Massengill; and her brothers, Russell and Oren Cummings.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Frank C. and Elizabeth Massengill of Pensacola, Fla.; her daughter and son-in-law, Melissa M. and Don Jones of Tuckers Town, Bermuda; her grandchildren and their spouses, Kelly J. and Kurt Authenreith of Houston, Dru and Nicole Jones of Oxford, Ben and Mariam Massengill of Jackson, Emily Massengill of Jackson, Lance Gill of Pensacola, Fla., and Dax and Stephanie Gill of Atlanta, Ga.

Memorials may be made to Faith Presbyterian Church World Missions Outreach, or to French Camp Academy, One Fine Place, French Camp, MS 39745-9703, or Reformed Theological Seminary Student Aid Fund, 5422 Clinton Blvd., Jackson, MS.
