Ringling, OK — .Funeral services for Ethel Lois Stepp, 75, of Ringling, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at Asphultum Assembly of God Church with Bro. Danny Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow at Dixie Cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home in Ringling.

Ethel was born May 14, 1934, in Ringling to the late Mr. John Henry Abshire and Mrs. Eva (Lester) Abshire. She departed this life Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at her residence in Ringling.
Ethel was born and raised in the Ringling area attending school there and Centerpoint. Ethel married Mr. George F. Stepp on Dec. 10, 1957, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

They made their home north of Ringling for many years where they raised 8 children. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Ethel dearly loved preparing Sunday dinner for her family for this was the time that they shared together. She was a member of the Ringling First Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Eva Abshire; brothers, Jack Abshire, Jim Abshire and Ceaton Abshire; and a grandson, Marty Fondren.

Survivors include her 3 daughters, Donna Henley and husband Charles of Healdton, Valerie Edwards and husband Joe and Angela McClanahan and husband Pat both of Velma; 5 sons, Cless Fondren and wife Margie, Mike Fondren, Randy Stepp, George Glenn Stepp and wife Karen all of Loco and Kerry Stepp and wife Gwenda of Ringling; sisters, Ima Bradford of Ringling, Eula Berry of Borger, Texas, Aleta Haygood of Ringling, Louise Rainwater of Eufaula and Dorthy Perry of Ryan; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Michael Fondren, Montana Fondren, Zachary Stepp, Tuffy Fondren, Stephen Edwards and Jacob Edwards.

Honorary bearers will be David Englehart, Dale Stepp, Johnny Stepp, Starrett Watkins, Jed Jones and Jeremiah Jones.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home in Ringling. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.alexanderfuneralhome.org.
