Jack Edward Ball, age 81 of Las Vegas, Nevada formerly of Neodesha, Kansas died Sunday, September 29, 2002 at the Nathan Adelson Hospice Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Jack was born September 1, 1921 in Altoona, Kansas to George and Nellie (Johnson) Ball. Jack grew up in Neodesha, Kansas and graduated as valdictorian of his class from the Neodesha High School.
In December of 1939 Jack married Laura Rexene Showers in Independence, Kansas and they made their home for many years in Neodesha, Kansas. They then moved to Wichita, Kansas and later to Las Vegas, Nevada. Jack owned and operated his own vending business he had some of the first vending drinks in theatres. Later in life Jack worked in the Gaming Resource in Las Vegas. He was a member of the Masons, and the Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife Laura of the Home, one brother Frank Ball of Kansas City, one sister Neama Douglas of Iola, Kansas, one grandson, one grandaughter and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his one son Gregory, one brother and his parents.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2002 at the Neodesha Cemetery under the direction of the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home.
Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2002 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home.
The family has suggested memorials to the American Cancer Soceity and contributions may be left at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home.
