She was born on January 27, 1918 in Paragonah, Utah, the youngest child of David and Almera Wilson Lamoreaux. She was raised and educated in the Vernal area.
Alta married her devoted husband, Alton LaMont Morrill on January 27, 1938 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They served two LDS missions, one in Northern California following their marriage and another In Louisville, Kentucky from 1980-82. She willingly served in all capacities of the L.D.S Church, but her greatest love was working with the youth, wisely and lovingly leading them in both the ward and stake.
As a gifted teacher, she taught Gospel Doctrine and Spiritual Living lessons, callings she had for many years. She was a refined lady who was willing to share her time and talents with everyone.
Alta is survived by her husband of 62 years and her three children: RLou (Fred) Haderlie of Vista, California; Sharon (Kent) Gamette of Provo; and Gary (LaNae) Morrill of Orem; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She found her greatest joy in serving her husband, her children, and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, all seven of her siblings, three sisters and four brothers; and by a grandson.
Funeral services will be held on Wed., September 27, at 12 noon at the Vineyard Ward Chapel, 800 South and Geneva Road, Orem. Friends may call on Tues., September 26, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North in Orem, or from 11-11:45 prior to the Funeral Service. Interment will be at the Orem Cemetery.
