PROVO, Utah—Services for Waldo Lamoreaux, 71, of Payson, Utah were conducted Thursday, Jan. 3 at the Berg Mortuary in Provo.
Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Pleasant Grove, Utah.
Lamoreaux died Sunday, Dec. 30 in Payson.
Lamoreaux was born July 19, 1913. He is the son of David Albert and Almera Wilson Lamoreaux.
He married Clarissa Leavit on Nov. 2, 1935 in Price, Utah. The ceremony was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City temple.
The couple met while he was working as a miner in Carbon County. She died Sept. 7, 1973.
They lived in Provo, Utah, where Lamoreaux worked for the city for 28 years. At one time, he was assistant superintendent of the water department.
Lamoreaux married his second wife, Ruth Broadbent Wagstaff Oct. 25, 1974 in Provo, Utah. She died May 29, 1982. He and his second wife served a mission with the LDS Church in Columbia, N.C.
Lamoreaux was an active member of the church. He served as a high priest and a temple worker.
He received his education in LaPoint in the Uintah Basin. After leaving the basin, Lamoreaux entered the Civil Conservation Corps camps before becoming a miner in Carbon County.
Lamoreaux is survived by three sons, Keith Albert Lamoreaux of Rock Springs, Robert D. Lamoreaux of Payson, Utah and Timothy Craig Lamoreaux of Santaquin, Utah; a foster son, Austin Clark of Window Rock, Ariz.; two brothers, Bud Lamoreaux of Grass Valley, Calif., and Jesse Lamoreaux of American Fork, Utah; two sisters, Wanda Morrill of Vernal, Utah, and Mrs. Alton (Alta) Morrill of Orem, Utah; 26 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
