Moulton - A 41 year old woman Hillsboro woman was pronounced dead on arrival at Decatur General Hospital early Saturday morning after being involved in a two-car collision 7.5 miles east of Moulton on Alabama 20.
The woman was identified by state troopers as Mrs. Phyllis (Billie) Sparkman Goodwin.
Trooper B. G. Canfield said Mrs. Goodwin was the driver of a car which was involved in a collision with a vehicle driven by Curtis Lee Foster of Hillsboro.
The investigating officer said Foster was injured and was taken to Decatur General Hospital where he was treated and later dismissed.
The accident occurred at 12:25 a.m. Mrs. Goodwin was pronounced dead at the hospital at 1 a.m.
Funeral services will be Monday at 4 p.m. from Guntharp Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Joe Hoover officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Guntharp directing.
Survivors includer the widower A. J. Goodwin of Hillsboro; two sons, Billy Jack Goodwin and Larry Goodwin both of Hillsboro. A daughter, Mrs. Linda Sue Smith of Hillsboro. A brother, Doris Alfred Sparkman of Fayetteville, NC; two sisters, Mrs. James H. Terry of Hillsboro and Mrs. Don Nelson, Decatur; six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be G. T. Hamilton, L. A. Sparks, Raymond Cantrell, Buddy Terry, and Randall Terry.
