William H. "Bill" Acord, 90, 701 N. Berkley Road, died at 9:15 a.m., Sunday, Sept 10, 2000, at Saint Joseph Hospital & Health Center.
Born Oct. 9, 1909, in Carmi, Ill., he was the son of William and Lucy (Smith) Acord Sr.
On Aug. 5, 1933, in Missouri, he married Mary F. (Hunter) Acord, his wife of 67 years, who survives.
He moved to Kokomo from Missouri in 1945. He retired From Continental Steel, Wire
Dept., in 1975, after 30 years of service. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are his wife; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Martha Acord and Glenn Acord, all of Kokomo; Clifford and Linda Acord, Pendleton; a daughter and son-in-law, Belinda and J.B. Jones, Kokomo; nine grandchildren, Ronald and Jody Jones, Cathy Miller, Mark Jones, Steven and Julie Acord, Gene Acord, Roger and Lori Acord and Glen Acord Jr., all of Kokomo; Charles Jones, Burlington; Sherri Lydie, Logansport; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Clyde and Esther Acord, Wolford and Raymond Acord, all of Kokomo; a sister, Bessie Mundy, Kokomo.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Sue Acord; a brother and two half-brothers.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ellers Mortuary, Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St. The Rev. Paul Enochs will officiate.
Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
