BEAUFORT - Shirley Bowers Buck, 65, a retired employee with Sprint Telephone Co., died Thursday in a local hospital. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Sea Island Presbyterian Church in Lady's Island. Burial, directed by Anderson Funeral Home, will be in Beaufort National Cemetery.
Mrs. Buck was born in Beaufort, a daughter of Samuel D. Bowers and Annie Maples Bowers. She was a member of Sea Island Presbyterian Church and Presbyterian Women.
Surviving are her husband, Kenneth W. Buck; her mother of Port Royal; a daughter, Teresa Annis of Port Royal; a brother, Samuel D. Bowers Jr. of Savannah; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
