Billy Sam Hobbs Sr., a resident of Webb,Ala.,
died Saturday, July 2, 2005 at his home.
He was 66.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.
Tuesday, July 5, in the Holman-Headland
Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. David Grantham
officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb
Cemetery. The family will receive friends
from 1 intil 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mortuary
in Headland.
Mr. Hobbs was born and reared in Houston County,Ala., son of the late Willie Hobbs and Sammie Mae Nolan Hobbs. He had lived in Webb since 1985. He was retired as a truck driver with AAA Cooper Transportation Company of Dothan. Mr. Hobbs served his country in the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist faith. He was proceded in death by a son, Timothy Earl Hobbs, and a brother Arthur Hobbs.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Sara Ann Davis Hobbs,Webb;two daughters, ----- and her husband ---,Webb; ---- and her husband ----,Midland City; a son, Billy Samuel Hobbs Jr. and his wife ---,Webb; five sisters, ---Lee and her husband John, Betty Sue Bigbee and her husband Don, all of Dothan; ---- Godwin and her husband Jerry of Vada,Ga., Earlene Burton and her husband Dan of Bloomsfield,Iowa, ---- Harrell and her husband ----,Camilla,Ga., four brothers; Willie Edward and his wife ---, Earl and his wife ---, Winton and his wife ----,all of Dothan, --- of Cottonwood; five grandchildren ----, ---, ----, ---, ----,; a great-granddaughter ----,several nieces and nephews.
