Mrs. Virginia Edgell.
Mrs. Virginia Edgell, 73 years old, who had been a resident of Leavenworth since 1860, died Saturday morning, 10:30 o'clock, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roy Brown, Twelfth and Troop streets, Kansas City, Kans. Mrs. Edgell had been in failing health for the last few years, but had been seriously ill only during the last two days.
Mrs. Virginia (Randolph) Edgell was born, August 20, 1848, in Platte county, Mo. When she was only twelve years old she came to this city with her parents and had resided here since that time, 1860. Mrs. Edgell was well known and highly respected by all who knew her.
The surviving relatives are three daughters,
Mrs. Joseph B. {Gertrude} Biltz, this city;
Mrs. Chester {Bessie May} Campbell, Kansas City, Kans.,
and Mrs. Roy {Clara Maude} Brown of Kansas City, Kans.,
and six sons,
W[illiam] F.,
and J[ohn] J[oseph] Edgell, both of this city,
J[ames] E[dward] Edgell, Paola;
D[ealie] F[redrick] Edgell, Oklahoma City;
T[homas] H[enry] Edgell and
Roy Edgell, Norwood, Colo.
There are thirty-nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon from the residence of W. F. Edgell, 705 Marshall street. The Rev. Stephen H. Butcher, pastor of the Congregational church, will officiate. Burial will be made in Mount Muncie cemetery.
