Mildred Ruth Allen went to her mansion in God's Heaven as the most beautiful, unselfish, daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother to have blessed us with her presence.

She left us on March 14, 2008, at Midland Hospice. She was born March 21, 1910, at Winnebago, NE, daughter of James and Mary Eveland.

She married Calvin Allen on Jan. 13, 1934. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Calvin, and 3 grandsons.

She is survived by 3 daughters: Lois Fannin-Nelson (Cecil) of Iowa, Phyllis Turk-Erickson (Jess) of Kansas, and Joyce Vanorstran (Jim) of Iowa; a son: Lee Dean Allen (Marianne) of Oklahoma; and 3 siblings: Bessie Alexander, David Eveland, and Floyd Eveland.

She was the world's greatest mother of 4, grandmother of 30, great-grandmother of 85, and great-great-grandmother of 14. She lived in Michigan Valley until 3 years ago when she went to live in Brookside Retirement Home, Overbrook.

Services will be at 10:00 AM, Tues., March 18, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka.

Interment in Auburn Cemetery.

Mildred will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Mon., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established at Kansas State Bank in Overbrook.
