Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Lockart & Sons Funeral Home in Beecher City. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Cowden.
Mr. Petty was born Nov 4, 1907, near Cowden, the son of Edward and Lavina Lorton Petty.
He was a member of the Church of Christ of Herrick. He was a retired farmer.
He married Carrie Sarver on June 4, 1926, in Vandalia, and she survivies.
Also surviving are three sons, Eugene of Beecher City, Gleen Lanell of Herrick and Donald of Elwin; one daughter, Imogene Atkinson of Herrick; three half brothers, Lee Tucker, Virgil Tucker and Kermit Tucker, all of Cowden; two half sisters, Bertha Blankenship and Mary Beck, both of Cowden; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, one half sister and one half brother.
