Anna Barbara Goertz, 88, a devoted disciple of Christ, a loving wife and mother, went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, October 8, 2009. Prior to making her home in Kingsland she was resident of Heritage Place in Boerne, Texas, for eight years and Kermit, Texas for 41 years.
She was born on September 30, 1921, in Red Rock, Texas, and married Richard John Goertz on April 10, 1944, in Rockne, Texas. They celebrated 59 years of marriage before the Lord called Richard home March 15, 2004. Anna was also preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Mary Wolf, brothers Harold Lloyd Wolf and Nash Wolf and twin infant daughters, Janet and Judy.
Her daughter, Barbara Boyd, is married to Kenneth Boyd and lives in Dalhart, Texas. Her oldest son, Richard Allan Goertz, is married to Kay Logan Goertz and lives in Kingsland, Texas. Her youngest son, Michael Dewayne Goertz, is married to Debbie Davis Goertz and lives in Huffman, Texas. Anna is also survived by nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
She was employed with Kermit Independent School District, completing 30 years of service. She served her community in Kermit as a volunteer at St. Thomas Catholic Church and with the Pink Ladies of the local hospital.
