Although born in Olney, Texas, June grew up in Bryson, before finally settling in Red Oak. She was a shy, petite, soft-spoken woman with a true pioneer spirit. She became the first female truck driver for Safeway. Her friends and co-workers will always remember hearing "Junebug" over the CB radio.
June truly loved being part of her family's lives. She was always available to listen or help and freely gave her love.
At time of death she was survived by her son and daughter-in-law William and Valerie Plaster of Dallas; daughter and son-in-law, Saundra and Steve Mayhall of Abilene and one brother, Walter (Pinky) Austin of Graham besides several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Joe Dal Austin and sister, Pasty Jan Holman.
