Jennie S. Boroo age 91 former South Range and Brule area resident died Thursday 25 June 2009 in St. Mary's Hospice Care Unit, Duluth. Born 2 March 1918 in Brule to the late Oscar and Ida nee Herrinen Ekstrom, she graduated from the former Waino High School, did beautiful crochet work, shared her crocheted items with many and was a member of Hope Lutheran Church-Oulu.

Jennie married Arne Boroo 15 October 1938 at Zion Lutheran Church-Duluth and celebrated 70 years of marriage before he passed away 4 June 2009, 3 weeks ago.

Survived by 2 daughters: Marjorie Holmbeck-Cumberland WI, Phyllis+Les Neubauer-Brule WI; son Bryan+Linda-Bennett WI; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; sister Ida Kotilainen, Finland; 3 sisters-in-law: Tyne Ekstrom, Fannie Boroo, Allie Bonior; several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by grandson Michael Boroo; 2 brothers: Martin and Edward; 2 sisters: Esther and Helen.

Visitation 10am until the 11am Funeral Service Monday 29 June 2009 in Hope Lutheran Church-Oulu with Pastor Scott Stai officiant. Burial will in the Hillcrest Cemetery-Oulu. Pallbearers for the service: Tom, Adam, Darren and Brandon Neubauer, Eric Boroo, Mike Cheng, Nick and Ethan Skaggs and Ronald Holmbeck. Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home assisted the family.
