Arne H Boroo age 92 former South Range and Brule area resident died Thursday 4 June 2009 in St Mary's Medical Center-Duluth. Born in Brule 13 December 1916 to the late Charles and Hilma nee Harju Boroo he married Jennie Ekstrom 15 October 1938 at Zion Lutheran Church in Duluth and celebrated 70 years of marriage.

Employed as a grain miller foreman for the Archer Daniels Midland Grain Elevator, Arne was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Oulu and the Boilermaker's Union associated with Butler Shipyards.

In addition to his wife Jennie, Arne is survived by 2 daughters Marjorie Holmbeck-Cumberland, Phyllis (Les) Neubauer-Brule; son Bryan (Linda) Boroo-Bennett; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandaughter; sister Aileen Bonior-Macomb MI; 3 sisters-in-law: Tyne Ekstrom-Iron River, Ida Kotilainen-Finland, Fannie Boroo-Clarkston WA; several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by grandson Michael Boroo; 2 sisters: Elsie Boroo and a younger sister Elsa Irene in Finland; 4 brothers; Hank, Sam, Tom, Art.

Visitation 10am until the 11am funeral service Tuesday 9 June 2009 in the Hope Lutheran Church-Oulu, Pastor Scott Stai officiant. Burial in Hillcrest Cemetery-Oulu. Pallbearers for the service: Tom, Adam, Darren and Brandon Neubauer, Eric Boroo, Mike Cheng, Nick Skaggs and Ronald Holmbeck. Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home assisted the family.
