DEATH CLAIMS NONOGENARIAN

One of Fairfield'd oldest residents passed away at 9 p.m. Saturday at the Jefferson county hospital wherre she had been a patient for the past week.

She is Mrs. Anna McIntire, 97, who suffered a fractured hip in a fall on Friday, September 16. She had been in good health until that time.

Last rites will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home with Mrs. Ella Heinemann, reader of the local Christian Science church, in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. McIntire was born July 21, 1852, in Waukesha county, Wisconsin, and moved to Fairfield with her parents when a small child and had made her home in this community since. She was the daughter of the late Peter and Margaret Schafer (sic. Schaefer).

Her husband, John McIntire, preceded his wife in death several years ago.

Mrs. McIntire is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John Miller, Cedar Rapids, and a number of grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and three brothers.

It is believed that Mrs. McIntire was the oldest Fairfield resident at the time of her death.
