(note: James & Eliza have been shown to have additional child, William, May 1900. However, the 1900 census taken June 4 lists only 2 children, and Eliza indicated she had 2 of 2 children living, as she did again in 1910. It seems unlikely that William is their child.

Funeral services for James Henry Orr, 9I, were held at 2:00 p.m., Oct. 24, at the Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Troy Alexander, officiating. Mrs. Argus Pilant, Mrs. Robert Ming, Miss Mary Lynn Pilant and Miss Peggy Jo Salmon sang favorite hymns accompanied by Mrs. Richard Dunn, organist. Interment was in White Oak Cemetery. Pallbearers were Angus Pilant, Olive Wilson, Robert Ming, Glenn Wilson, Johnnie Salmon and Richard Dunn.
Mr. Orr died Oct. 22, at the Bates County Memorial Hospital, Butler. James Henry Orr, one of 14 children of Marvel and Elizabeth Barnhart Orr, was born March 13,1874, in Maries County, Mo. On Feb. 2, 1896, Mr. Orr married his childhood sweetheart, Miss Eliza Jane Barnhart and two children were born to them. Mr. and Mrs. Orr moved to Henry County to the Delmar and Piper communities in 1921, where they lived until moving to their home west of the Hopewell Church 22 years ago. They lived there until August, of 1964, when they moved to the Pine Tree Rest Home at Butler. Mr. Orr became a member of the Camp Ground Christian Church in Maries County when a young man and soon after coming to Henry County placed his membership in the Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. Orr enjoyed good health all of his life and was proud of the fact he had never been ill or a patient in a hospital. He will be remembered for his cheerful greeting and the enjoyment he derived in visiting with relatives and friends. Survivors are his wife, Pine Tree Rest Home, Butler; a son, Ray Gilbert Orr, Montrose; four sisters, Mrs. Bill Barnhart, Jefferson City; Mrs. Cora Kueswitt, Rosebud; Mrs. Henrietta Bilyeu, Meta; Mrs. Mercie Wiethoff, St. Louis; two brothers, Robert Ervin Qrr, Lamar, Colo.; Marvel Elmer Our, Blairstown; six grandchildren, Donald Lee Barnhart, Kansas City, and Mrs, Betty Jean Keplinger, Overland Park, Ks., who made their home with their grandparenibs after the death of their mother, Ray Orr, Jr., Clinton, Mrs Lillian Zehnder, William Wayne Barnhart, Kansas City, James Murel Barnhart, Butler; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Hattie Pearl Orr Barnhart on March, 28, 1939, and a granddaughter, Lelia Faye Orr, on Dec. 12, 1936.
