Beathe the oldest of the two daughters married Mr. John Melcher, a pottery maker, and their land became known as Pottery Hill. Melcher Street is also named after them. Bricks from the pottery business were shipped to Seattle to build buildings and streets. John and Beathe had three children; John W. Melcher, Clara Beatrice Melcher and Christine May Melcher. Beathe died on 15 Mar 1954 in Bellingham, Whatcom, Washington. She was buried in the Omak Memorial Cemetary in Okanagon,Wa
