Marion Clark Phillips was the son of Mary Annis Hall and Willis Thomas Phillips. He served in the Hawaiian Medical Corps as a U.S. Army nurse in World War II and was stationed at Pearl Harbor.
He was called "Dimp" by family and friends. Dimp married his high school sweetheart Mildred Mae Nelson, in 1938. They had a daughter Caroline. He married three more times. He has two children with his wife Ada Pilgrim, Marion Clark Phillips, Jr and Teresa Diane Phillips. Dimp died as a result of an automobile accident.
