Bio information:
James was the son of James D. Thompson who donated the land and built Nellie Chapel. He was the husband of Hibernia O'Donnelly of Atlanta's West end O'Donnelly's.
It is written by his younger brother, Samuel Norris Thompson in his Early History of East Point Georgia, (Or "an early sketch of pioneer days") that James died from an illness he caught while singing in the night air on his way home from a Temperance meeting in 1877. He was the first Sunday School Superintendent of East Point Ave. United Methodist Church (Methodist/Episcopal at the churches start.) Part of his grave is now under the walk way that goes through the center of the cemetery.
