Ann Schilling was the daughter of Franz schilling and Elizabeth Messmer. She was born in Katharinental, Odessa, Russia, which is now part of the Ukraine. She was of German heritage. She married Sebastain Baer on in June of 1871. ann gave birth to eleven children in Russia, but only 6 would live to see the United States. Sebastain moved his family to the United States in in 1893 aboard the SS Lahn. Anna gave birth to one baby girl in the United States, but she died in infancy. Anna died in April of 1900, when her youngest son was only 9.
