Rev. Olen Hafley, 77, of Sweetwater, died Sunday, June 17, 2007, at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center.


He was a member of Steekee Creek Baptist Church in Loudon, and had pastored several churches in Monroe, McMinn and Loudon counties. He retired from Vestal Manufacturing, and was preceded in death by one son, David Hafley; his parents, Charlie and Minnie Millsaps Hafley; and four brothers, Wayne, Fred, Robert and Lester Hafley.


Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary Alice Moses Hafley of Sweetwater; two daughters, Dane McCosh and Denise Dawson, both of Sweetwater; one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Lisa Hafley of Sweetwater; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Pauline Bradford of Niota; one brother, Charles Glenn Hafley of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at South Madisonville Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Harris and the Rev. Joe Ricks officiating. Burial will follow in Short Creek Cemetery in Athens.
