Fred Hafley, 81, of McMinn County died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001, at Standifer Place Health Center in Chattanooga.

He was retired employee of Walls Chevrolet of Athens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Minnie Belle Millsaps Hafley.

Survivors include children and spouses, Linda and Phillip Newberry of Etowah, Shanan and Todd Nolen of Riceville and Brian Hafley of Athens; five grandchildren;
sister, Pauline Bradford and husband, Paul of Niota; brothers and spouses, Rev. Olen Hafley and Mary Alice of Sweetwater, Charles Hafley and Kathreine of Cleveland and Rev. Wayne Hafley and Jean of Ohio; nine nephews and six nieces.

Funeral service was 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Loudon Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.

Buford Albright officiating. Family and friends met at Short Creek Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday for graveside service with Rev. Tony Spencer officiating. The family received friends 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Loudon Funeral Home.
