STONE
Vernon E. Stone, 74 who moved to Florida from Elkhart nine years ago died Saturday at his home in Fellsmere, Fla. He had retired in 1953 as a New York Central inspector.
Mr. Stone was born July 25, 1888 in Osceola. He married the former Hazel Schott in 1953. She survives, along with three daughters, Mrs. Dan Duncan, Pacific Grove, CA. , Mrs. Mervin Pate, Ceres, CA. and Mrs. Robert Bienz, Elkhart; four sons , Lewis, Watsonville, CA and Walter Douglas and Howard, all of Elkhart, and a stepson William Schott, Elkhart.
Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and six step grandchildren.
Mr. Stone was a member of the Moose and Eagles Lodges.
Friends may call at the Walley Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
