Phyllis E. Bieck, heard God's call "Come Home - Phyllis" on October 4, 2009 at her home in Harvard, Nebraska. She was welcomed into The Heavenly Home by her parents,Clyde and Elsie (Craney)Shear, husbands, Edie and Alfred, brothers, Clyde and wife Fern and Kenneth Shear, and sister Arlyss Brooks and husband Bob. Phyllis was born July 17, 1914 in Peabody, Kansas.

Phyllis graduated from the Bradshaw High School and worked at the dime store in York, Nebraska and the telephone office in Hastings, Nebraska. She married Edie Volz on September 12, 1938; he passed away September 18, 1940. On February 14, 1946 she married Alfred John Beick, he passed away October 6, 1985. Phyllis and Al were loyal Nebraska Football Fans. GO BIG RED

Phyllis had many joys in life that she loved. She was a member of the Harvard United Church of Christ, Harvard, NE and was a leader for the youth group, held many offices in the church, and baked many pies for their various projects. She was very active for the Republican Party, the Cancer Society and the Red Cross.

Phyllis loved her flower and vegetable gardens and she raised beautiful peonies and canned many quarts of vegetables and fruits from their garden and trees.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Lorene Shear, nieces Connie Bussinger and husband Erny and Bonnie Slaymaker all of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, niece, Julie Aksendahl of Montana and many other nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews on both her side and her husband's sides.
